Your child might be a toddler or a 5 years old school going boy. When health related query arises, all children should be considered under the same category.
Know what are those 5 things which you should never give children-
1) Food that contains 'All purpose flour'
This four is refined wheat flour which has no such benefits, but hazards. As it is deficient in fibre content; it becomes sticky when comes in contact with the water.
When consumed in the form of variety of foods, it causes constipation. As we all have been hearing since our school days the fact behind 'proper functioning of bowels. ' We already know how important it is to have fibre rich food for proper functioning of bowels. Food that is devoid of any fibre content in it will only cause constipation leading to gastric and intestinal problems.
Always avoid giving these foods to the children which are made from 'All purpose flour' -
* Biscuits
* White bread
* Pizza
* Noodles
* Other snacks
All the food items mentioned above contains mainly all purpose flour. Have you ever noticed when you give any of these food items to your kid, he or she refuses to eat the normal routine food? The reason behind this loss of appetite is their already satisfied hunger.
These are all junk foods made from all purpose flour which eventually satisfies hunger without nourishment. Your child will ask for these food stuffs only and loose interest in nutrition rich diet. Read what are the basic things important for the growth and development of children.
I have seen children eating biscuits and snacks made from all purpose flour. They only asked for those things again and again. They had no interest in rice and dal, vegetables and chappatis. Those children lacked their physical health and appeared very weak and less active that the other children of their age.
2) Wafers or chips
These food items are very bad for health of your child. Packed wafers contain various added preservatives and chemicals like 'monosodium glutamate' which enhances the taste but not really good for health.
When kids consume such food stuffs, they keep eating them and satiate all their hunger. Still, the nutritional requirement persists, but there is no space left for enough nutritious food to fulfill this nutritional requirement. In such cases, kids fill their tummies, but lack in nutrition and gain weight, but loose good health.
3) MOBILE PHONES
It has nothing to do with diet. But still takes important place in the topic as it is hazardous to ones health.
Mobile phones emit certain radiation which is absorbed by the tissues of our body. Whatever is absorbed by our bodies show their effects in some or the other ways.
Radiations cause penetration in the body tissues and show their effect by causing certain diseases after prolong and regular contact.
These radio frequency radiations have non ionizing property which show bad effects when absorbed.
Even adults should keep mobiles away when not in use. Try to avoid keeping them in pockets. One can easily carry phones in purses and bags.
I had been attending colour dynamic meditation classes during my college days. They always taught how the cell phones are harmful for human bodies and that how they consume our energy.
They had a device which measured the aura of human body. Say it could somehow measure the energy in some form.
After meditation one's increased aura measured by the device showed its decline after the use of mobile phone.
That means we can conclude that mobile phone's use can consume our energy after a phone call.
Dangers of mobile phones-
1) Tumour
2) Organ damage
3) Damage to the brain
4) Migraine
All the above health hazards can be caused due to prolonged and continue contact of mobile with specific area of the body.
The good advice is to restrict the use of mobile phones and keep them away from the reach of children.
Children in today's world are very interested in mobile phones and want to play games. They even tend to cry if not handed over phone. Parents usually fulfill their children's wish to stop them cry. But, this is very wrong. They can instead offer them good brain development games.
4) PASTEURIZED MILK
Pasteurization of milk is a process in which milk is first homogenized to separate the solids including fats from the liquid. This milk is then treated with a mild heat to remove pathogens from the milk.
The idea is good. But the querry which raises here is ' Does parturized milk contains all the nutrients essential for our body?'
The answer is 'No'. As pasteurization removes all the fats, proteins, most of the vitamin and minerals from the milk; why should one consume the product with less benefits?
Compared to the pasteurized milk, raw milk from nearby dairy or farm dairy carries more nutrients responsible for good health. Always full cream milk should be consumed which is full of proteins, vitamins and minerals. After all nutrition is the only reason we consume milk.
Raw milk which is full cream from good trusted dairy, should be boiled manually at home. This boiled milk at home is always beneficial for everyone including children.
You can always search for a good, trusted dairy where the cows are grown up with care, taken care of their proper diet, etc. Then ask the dairy to bring you the raw milk which you can boil at home. Always give this home boiled milk to your child.
Raw milk even after boiling at home, carries all its beneficial nutrients, enzymes and bacteria which are essential for the digestion of milk. All these factors lack in the pasteurized milk.
There is again another category of milk called 'ultra pasteurized milk' which is treated on high heat. The objective is to provide sterilization of milk. But what is the nutritional value of such milk. When the nutritional value is very little, why should one consume such milk? Why one should offer such milk to children?
This milk can remain unspoiled for long time, near about 1 month period. Only to increase the shelf life of the milk, it is treated such way. But, is it really good to consume milk kept for long?
Raw milk is always spoiled in less than a day if not boiled early. But, raw milk with all its fat content is always good for your as well as your child's health.
A baby less than 6 months is always on formula milk or breast feeding which is normally continued till one year. After that when one starts giving the cow milk, should always prefer raw full cream milk boiled at home.
5) FOODS WITH SAUCE, VINEGAR, COLOURING AGENTS
Most of the food dishes we order from restaurants contains preserved sauces, colouring and flavouring agents, which are rich in chemicals and preservatives which makes them unhealthy.
Sauces which are used in delicious dishes in good restaurants contains unhealthy preservatives and chemicals which can cause harmful effects to one's health. Children are very sensitive to such items and can cause health related problems increasing visits to doctor.
Always serve your kids better, offer them good health related things and rewards for healthy habits. Help them grow in healthy environment, with healthy food and habits.
